Accuracy depends on image quality. High-resolution screenshots of digital text (UI, documents, code) achieve 95–99% accuracy. Handwritten text or low-contrast images will be less accurate.
Does the file get uploaded to your servers?
No. All OCR processing happens inside your browser using WebAssembly. Your screenshot never leaves your device.
What image formats are supported?
PNG, JPEG, WebP, GIF, and BMP. PNG and JPEG give the best OCR results.
Is there a file size limit?
We recommend keeping files under 10 MB for best performance. Very large images may take longer to process in the browser.
Can it extract text from photos of printed documents?
Yes, though accuracy on photos depends on lighting and focus. Screenshots of digital content will always give better results than photos.
